Internationally recognized fetish model Kumi calls herself a monster, and she certainly dominates the world of erotic photography the same way fire-breathing turtle Gamera rules the skies over Tokyo.

Okay, so maybe that was a stretch. When I see Kumi, I certainly don't think "monster." One of the most beautiful and photogenic women on the fetish scene, this half-Korean, half-Irish (or as she would say it, "half kim chee, half whiskey") California girl has made a name for herself posing for photographers like Dave Naz and Steve Diet Goedde, who have created amazing images of her decked out in leather, rubber, and one of her singular specialties, rope.

"Hmmm, rope," she says. "What should I say about rope besides the fact that I love being the canvas that's used when it's done well. I like the feeling being restrained by it gives, and more than anything the support when I'm suspended. Pretty colored rope… and don't forget the smell and feeling of hemp against bare skin."

After spending her early adult years jaunting around Europe, Kumi tried college, but soon abandoned it and began a love affair with latex.

"From wearing shiny PVC (more readily available in mainstream shops at the time) I made the switch to rubber," Kumi says. "My favorite local women's leather shop kept me stocked with outfits of my favorite fabric while I, in exchange, performed for them in fashion shows and such appearances."

"What more could a girl want than to dress up in custom fitted and designed pervy fetish fashions?"

And what more could viewers want than the sight of a luscious, exotic model to show off those fashions? It didn't take long for photographers and fetishists alike to notice Kumi's charms, and soon she was one of the most distinct faces to be found in the erotic world.

As you'll notice from these images, Kumi has a shaved head, and God knows this is not an easy look for a girl to pull off (I can think of only a couple besides Persis Khambatta from Star Trek: The Motion Picture). But not only has she pulled it off, she's turned it into a look that's all her own, one that separates her from her peers and often allows photographers an opportunity for very interesting images (one of her head emerging from a bathtub filled with milk comes to mind).

This also helps allow Kumi to be such an amazing model —she can look so different from image to image, from gorgeous she-devil to cute, adorable porcelain doll.
