Every year, Eros Zine editor Thomas Roche and a San Francisco sex
club, dungeon or dive bar full of his closest friends and hated
rivals gather together to explore all the darkest themes of love
and romance -- psycho girlfriends with nutty exes, boyfriends with
skid marks, and heartache, heartache, heartache!

I know, I know -- for this, you want we should pay ten dollars?
But what makes this event slightly different than your run-of-the-mill
group drunken crying jag at the Zeitgeist is that My Sucky Valentine
peels back the rotting rose petals of romance that cover the fragrant
bud of sleaze. Many of San Francisco's best-loved erotica writers
step away from their usual sex-positive selves and mingle their
appreciation of the nastier side of sex with bitter and downright
admissions about how wrong it can go.

Past years have featured stories and poems about star-crossed romances,
ill-conceived sexual encounters, crockery-smashing breakups, mistaken
identity, dates with serial killers and of course, entries in that
tried-and-true subgenre of modern literature, known as the "You
Suck Fuck You I Fucking Hate You!" story -- proving, as the poets
have said, that "Revenge is a dish best served live on stage in
front of a hundred people, preferably wearing black leather." In,
you know, a literary fashion.

People attending are encouraged to wear their sexiest, skimpiest,
kinkiest sleazewear. This year's event is on a "Gangster of Love"
theme, bringing to light the erotic promise of pinstripes and the
many filthy uses to which a spurned pervert can put a wingtip shoe
(hint: you'll need lube). Tales of sexual woe will come from Eros
Zine columnist Tori
Ann McCabre as well as Carol
Queen, Thea
Hillman, Daphne
Gottlieb, Violet
Blue, Mistress
Morgana, mi
blue, and Simon
Sheppard, as well as MC Roche. There will also be special dance
performances from Bombshell
Betty and Lady
Monster Burlesque -- who will be performing both a hard-edged
modern dance set to her own track from the forthcoming Revolting
Cocks album as well as more traditional burlesque.

If spoken-word sleaze and naughty bump-n-grind doesn't tempt you,
slip away to bid on the silent auction fundraiser, which will feature
a positively stunning collection of porn, sex toys and other gifts.
Donations to the silent auction were made by such vendors as Blowfish,
Good Vibrations,
Mr. S and Madame S Leathers,
Comstock Films,
and Pretty
Things Press. Additional sponsors include the San
Francisco Citadel, the San Francisco Bay Guardian, The Onion,
the San Francisco Bay Times -- and, of course, Eros Zine. In fact,
if you'd like to pick up an Eros Zine T-shirt, this is without question
the place to do it. The silent auction will also feature several
framed prints of Roche's erotic photography.
Come celebrate everything bad about love and sex with some of the
most literary pervs in the city. Wear your black latex fetish gear
-- and your broken heart on your sleeve.
