Like Tristan Taormino's wonderfully successful House of Ass, her newest film, Chemistry, takes a delectable assortment of male and female porn stars and puts them in a luxurious house to do pretty much whatever they want, whenever they want. Structured around a selection of frank interviews in which the talent discusses their sex lives, both in the business and out of it, the DVD quickly progresses from some fairly titillating flirting between the stars to -- you guessed it! -- heated sessions of fucking. Mr. Marcus and Marie Luv put on a particularly enthusiastic show to open things up, with the sort of impulsive chemistry that, I'm assuming, Taormino had in mind in the first place. There follow intensely hot pairings between Taryn Thomas and Kurt Lockwood as well as Dana DeArmond and Jack Lawrence, threesomes with Mika Tan, DeArmond and Lawrence and Tan, Thomas and Lockwood, and a blow-out four way with Marie, Jack, Dana, and Mr. Marcus. Though the interview sections add a healthy dose of interest and chemistry between the performers, the feature never bogs down in the process.  Additionally,
the menu offers a "positions room," complete with -- I SHIT YOU NOT!!! --
pussy eating. That's right; if for no other reason, this DVD stands apart
from all other porn titles in that you can actually choose to watch some
admirable examples of cunnilingus, that most deviant of sexual acts, so
rarely represented in mainstream porn! If you prefer, the positions room offers doggy style, fellatio, missionary sex and cum shots. Disk 2 is when you get deep into special features territory, with a total of FIVE (count 'em!) bonus sex scenes and bonus confession scenes, behind-the-scenes footage, a "Women of Chemistry" photo gallery as well as production still AND behind-the-scenes photo galleries, not to mention trailers and a sneak preview of the upcoming Chemistry, Volume 2. Given that the feature itself runs close to three hours and features four different women so breathtaking that their most casual delectations make my eyes swim (not even including director Taormino, who's no Ron Jeremy herself), this adds up to a whole pile o' high-quality porn. But the thing that is so likable about Taormino's features -- and here I include House of Ass -- is not quantity but quality. She really does appear to seek spontaneity in her performers, wanting to genuinely enjoy themselves rather than running through the motions that will produce the next fat paycheck. As such, Chemistry has an unmistakably artistic intention to it, while still being the most unabashedly, shamelessly, deliciously dirty porn you'll ever see. It's the perfect weekend treat for couples, ideal for solo enjoyment, and just generally an all-around great porn title.
